If something does not work

The camera does not turn on
Click the lock or camera icon next to the address bar and set camera and microphone to Allow for this site, then reload. On iPhone, also check Settings > Safari > Camera. Close other apps that might be using the camera, like a meeting tool.
The picture is blurry or freezing
This is bandwidth most of the time. Close tabs that stream music or video, pause downloads and move closer to the router. If you are on mobile data, try Wi-Fi. If the problem is only with one person, skip: it could be their connection.
I cannot hear them, or they cannot hear me
Check that the microphone is allowed and not muted in the call. Wear headphones, which also stops echo. If you are on a laptop with an external microphone, make sure the browser is using the right one.

Matching depends on who is online at that moment. Wait a few seconds, then try again. Evenings and weekends are usually busier than mid-morning.
Keep control of the conversation
You decide how long a call lasts and what you share. If you are not comfortable being on camera, use text. If you want to stay low-key, anonymous video chat shows what the other person sees. If a call feels wrong, skip or leave, and report anything that crossed a line.
